St Barthomew’s School recognises the important role that is played by primary schools in enabling children to have high aspirations about their future, and to help them learn how to become independent citizens.
As a school we endeavour to provide children with a range of meaningful experiences, visits and visitors to teach them about the world of work, and to help them build the necessary skills to help them succeed in life.

During the spring term we participate in National Careers Week (NCW), and careers education in school is celebrated. Throughout the year visitors are invited into school to talk to the children about the professions and job roles, and pupils are given the opportunity to visit places of work – for example Class 2 visit Stansted Airport.
We try to ensure that children are given a wide range of experiences to help them think about their future.
Our Careers Leader in school is Mrs Kelly Wall, and she plans and coordinates our school-based careers programme. She can be contacted via the school office, and will be happy to explain any of the information explained in the policy further.
